FQA
The program is intended for male and female combat veterans living with post-trauma stress disorder as a result of military service, who are either officially recognized or in the process of recognition by the Ministry of Defense.
Participation is subject to a personal interview with the NGO’s team to ensure suitability for the process and the program framework.
“Raising a Glass to Life” is the world’s first Vinotherapy program, created specifically for combat veterans living with post-trauma.
Over the course of a full year, each participant takes part in both a personal and group process, and creates a unique wine series of their own, guided by a therapeutic team and senior professionals from Israel’s wine industry.
The personal barrel reflects each participant’s inner world, with every stage of vine cultivation and winemaking carrying emotional meaning and significance.
Vinotherapy is an innovative and first-of-its-kind wine-emotional rehabilitation process based on a deep connection between the human soul, the land, and the winemaking process. The process includes work in the vineyard and winery, and aims to help participants return to a full and meaningful life path.
Working in the vineyard and winery enables a renewed connection to the land, to nature, and to physical activity – within an atmosphere of calm, routine, and the steady rhythm of the seasons.
Engaging with the vine requires presence, gentleness, attentiveness, and patience, creating a safe ground for building resilience, restoring a sense of self-worth, and at times – regaining trust in oneself and in others.
Participants take an active part in all stages of production: a creative process that involves touch, meaning, and growth – with every step reflecting both the personal struggle and the growth that emerges from it.
The group work fosters a sense of belonging and security, and encourages gradual openness – without pressure and without the need for words.
The program lasts a year and includes 35 weekly meetings, combining theoretical learning and practical work in the vineyard and winery, as well as additional activities, all with close emotional support.
The activity takes place in the Jezreel Valley, the Galilee, the Carmel Coast, and the Elah Valley.

TERRA UMA is the only organization in Israel – and in the world – that works for warriors dealing with post-trauma through vinotherapy: a groundbreaking combination of agricultural work and winemaking with a guided emotional process.
The association is based on a sustainable economic model, in which the products of the growth process – the wine – serve as an independent source of funding for the activity.
This is an innovative, complete and profound model that allows participants to return to an active life path through a process of strengthening personal resilience, restoring a sense of value and capability, and building new growth paths that lead to optimal integration into society.
The organization accepts volunteers in a variety of fields – from working in the vineyard, through logistical assistance, to design, photography, writing, and more.
You can leave details in the contact form on the website, and the association will get back to you as soon as possible.
For ongoing updates on activities and volunteer opportunities, please follow the association's Facebook and Instagram pages.
Donations can be made through the website using a credit card or bank transfer, or alternatively through one of the association's partner funds in Israel and abroad.
