Do combat experiences stay with you even after your release?
Struggling to return to daily life?
Perhaps our program could be the right fit for you –
and yes, it’s even enjoyable :)

TERRA UMA works to support combat veterans living with post-trauma and helps them return to a full and meaningful life through Vinotherapy – a pioneering wine-based emotional rehabilitation process, the first of its kind in the world, built on a deep connection between the human soul, the land, and the winemaking journey.

Our Activities

Vinotherapy is a groundbreaking process, the first of its kind worldwide, uniting the human soul, the earth, and the art of winemaking. It creates a natural pathway from trauma to growth.

The Vinotherapy Method

The Summit and the Fracture

The grape clusters embody life before the trauma – whole, vibrant, and full of promise.
The harvest, arriving when the grapes are at their very peak, marks the moment of rupture: the trauma itself. It is the sudden breaking point, the separation from everything once familiar, and the beginning of an entirely new journey.

Every stage of winemaking becomes a metaphor for the inner journey.
The closed tank echoes the struggle of confinement, the lack of oxygen mirrors moments of suffocation, the pressing reflects life’s hardships, and the sediments at the bottom symbolize the weight we carry – along with the desire to let go.

Through these stages, participants explore challenges, embrace change, and uncover both strengths and vulnerabilities. This creative and symbolic process opens paths for healing and growth – without feeling like therapy, yet offering its profound impact.

The personal wine barrel as a container for the soul

This is the moment for participants to rediscover who they are.
Around the personal wine barrel, through a journey that awakens all the senses, they are invited to search within for strengths and feelings once forgotten, to reignite dormant passions, and to uncover new dimensions of themselves.

The barrel becomes both a mirror and a guide – demanding responsibility, inviting choices, and empowering each participant to shape the path of creation, step by step, just as they shape their own renewed lives.

The journey offers participants many opportunities to strengthen, refine, and express their unique voice.

They complete the process with a one-of-a-kind wine series – unique in both appearance and content – carrying a deeply personal message.

For those living with post-trauma, the natural longing to return to who they were before the injury – to be the grapes before the harvest – can be frustrating, limiting, and often lead to feelings of despair or stagnation.

This journey allows participants to recognize that the trauma has created something new, different, and perhaps even stronger and more resilient than what existed before. It enables them to believe that another path is possible – one in which they still have so much to give and to receive from the world.

"We may never go back to being the grapes we once were… but above all the sediments, we’ve discovered that we are a beautiful wine!"

How does it work?

Each and every one of us has a wine barrel that is a mirror of our soul. In it we produce our personal wine series.

Each stage of the winemaking journey – from fermentation and sediment to maturation – becomes a mirror of the soul. These stages invite deep reflection on the challenges of trauma, while revealing the resilience, beauty, and new strengths that rise from within.

Through working with the vine, the barrel, and creating our unique product, we reconnect with ourselves and life.

This is a different kind of journey.
A journey of discovery, creation, and return to life!
